Queensland act
Queensland’s adoption of the national gas law creates a single regulatory framework for how gas (including hydrogen, biomethane and synthetic blends) moves and is traded across the state and national market. It controls pipeline access and pricing, governs wholesale and retail markets, and brings new gas suppliers into the rules.
This affects pipeline owners (directly), producers, traders and retailers, with households and businesses indirectly protected from monopoly pricing and supply disruption. Regulators like the AER, AEMO and AEMC enforce market rules and reliability.
