sec.23 National gas objective
The objective of this Law is to promote efficient investment in, and efficient operation and use of, covered gas services for the long term interests of consumers of covered gas with respect to— price, quality, safety, reliability and security of supply of covered gas; and the achievement of targets set by a participating jurisdiction— for reducing Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions; or that are likely to contribute to reducing Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions. The AEMC must publish targets in a targets statement: see section 72A . s 23 amd 2023 No. 26 (SA) s 14 ; 2023 No. 36 (SA) s 13
- (a) price, quality, safety, reliability and security of supply of covered gas; and
- (b) the achievement of targets set by a participating jurisdiction— (i) for reducing Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions; or (ii) that are likely to contribute to reducing Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.
