Tasmania act
This is Tasmania's Working with Vulnerable People registration scheme — a screening and registration system designed to protect children and other vulnerable people (such as the elderly or people with disabilities) from harm.
This law acts as a safety gate — it stops people who pose a risk from gaining access to vulnerable people through work or volunteering. It creates accountability for both individuals and the organisations that engage them. Operating without registration (or knowingly employing an unregistered person) is an offence.
