### 56 Protection from liability > > (1)  In this section – > > > > > ***official*** means – > > > > > > > > (a) the Registrar; or > > > > > > > > > (b) an independent advisor; or > > > > > > > > > (c) a person authorised by the Registrar under this Act to do or not do a thing; or > > > > > > > > > (d) another person engaged in the administration of this Act. > > > (2)  An official does not incur any personal liability in respect of any act done or omitted in good faith – > > > > > > (a) in the performance or exercise, or the purported performance or exercise, of any function or power under this Act; or > > > > > > > (b) in the administration or execution, or purported administration or execution, of this Act. > > > (3)  A civil liability that would, but for this section, attach to an official or other person attaches to the Crown.
