Important context: This was a transitional scheme. Entitlements for on-road diesel and off-road diesel fuel generally ceased for purchases made after 1 July 2006, when the system transitioned to the Fuel Tax Act 2006. The Act also restricted diesel grants to ultra-low sulphur diesel from 2006 to encourage cleaner fuel adoption.
