Judgment
- HIS HONOUR: This judgment arises from a preliminary hearing of an application by the State of New South Wales (the State) for an extended supervision order (ESO) in respect of Mr Jason Leslie Stevenson under the Crimes (High Risk Offenders) Act 2006 (NSW) (the Act).
- The State seeks orders pursuant to s 7(4) of the Act for two experts to examine Mr Stevenson and provide reports. It seeks an order pursuant to ss 10A and 11 for an interim supervision order (ISO) which Mr Stevenson must comply with. It also seeks an order restricting (but not necessarily preventing) access to the Court's file.
- Mr Stevenson opposes the making of these orders (aside from that concerning the file) and contends that the application should be dismissed.
