#### 31C Claims for medical expenses compensation 31C Claims for medical expenses compensation > > (1) The Self Insurance Corporation may pay provisional medical expenses compensation to a person who has made a claim for medical expenses compensation (the substantive claim) if satisfied it is likely— > > > > > (a) the person is an eligible volunteer, and > > > > > (b) the person has received a relevant injury. > > > (2) The payment of provisional medical expenses compensation under this section is on the basis of the provisional acceptance of liability by the Self Insurance Corporation for an amount of $10,000 or another amount prescribed by the regulations. > > > (3) The acceptance of liability on a provisional basis does not constitute an admission of liability by the Self Insurance Corporation under this Act or independently of this Act. > > > (4) The Self Insurance Corporation is to cease to pay provisional medical expenses compensation when it determines the substantive claim. > > **s 31C:** Ins 2022 No 25, Sch 2.2\[9\].
