#### 31B Claims for weekly payments of compensation 31B Claims for weekly payments of compensation > > (1) The Self Insurance Corporation may make provisional weekly payments of compensation to a person who has made a claim for weekly payments of compensation (the substantive claim) if satisfied it is likely— > > > > > (a) the person is an eligible volunteer, and > > > > > (b) the person has received a relevant injury. > > > (2) The payment of provisional weekly payments of compensation under this section is on the basis of the provisional acceptance of liability by the Self Insurance Corporation for a period of up to 12 weeks determined by the Corporation having regard to the nature of the injury and the period of incapacity. > > > (3) The acceptance of liability on a provisional basis does not constitute an admission of liability by the Self Insurance Corporation under this Act or independently of this Act. > > > (4) The Self Insurance Corporation is to cease to make provisional weekly payments of compensation when it determines the substantive claim. > > **s 31B:** Ins 2022 No 25, Sch 2.2\[9\].
