sec.9A General outcomes for groundwater

Each of the following is a general outcome for groundwater in the plan area— to maintain the capability of a part of a groundwater flow system to be connected to a watercourse, lake or spring where there are users of surface water dependent on baseflow; to provide for the continued use of water entitlements and other authorisations to take groundwater in a groundwater sub-area, other than water entitlements and other authorisations to take groundwater in an affected groundwater sub-area (the affected water entitlements ); to provide the opportunity to recover, in affected groundwater sub-areas, the use of the affected water entitlements; to maintain and protect, where practicable, the quality of groundwater for consumptive purposes; irrigation to prevent further seawater intrusion.
