73 Disposal of approved substances by approved disposer
(1) This section applies if an approved disposer receives an approved
substance from a person.
(2) The approved disposer—
(a) must, when they receive the approved substance, give the person
a written record of receiving the substance that includes any
information prescribed by regulation; and
(b) must, within 4 business days after the day they receive the
approved substance, give the following entities a written notice
of having received the substance that includes any information
prescribed by regulation:
(i) the board;
(ii) the director-general; and
(c) may possess the approved substance for the purpose of
disposing of it; and
(d) must, as soon as practicable after receiving the approved
substance, dispose of it in accordance with any disposal
requirements prescribed by regulation.
Maximum penalty (paragraph (b) (i)): 20 penalty units.
(3) Within 7 days after the day an approved disposer disposes of an
approved substance, the disposer must—
(a) prepare a written record of the disposal (a disposal record) that
includes any information prescribed by regulation; and
(b) give the board a copy of the disposal record.
(5) The approved disposer must keep the disposal record for at least
2 years after the day they dispose of the approved substance.
