### 6 Deputy Valuer-General and other officers > > (1)  [*\[Section 6 Subsection (1) amended by No. 39 of 2006, s. 6, Applied:01 Jan 2007\]*](/view/html/inforce/2007-01-01/act-2006-039#GS6@Hpa@EN) The Minister may appoint a State Service officer or State Service employee to be a Deputy Valuer-General and that person may hold that office in conjunction with State Service employment. > > > (2)  [*\[Section 6 Subsection (2) amended by No. 39 of 2006, s. 6, Applied:01 Jan 2007\]*](/view/html/inforce/2007-01-01/act-2006-039#GS6@Hpb@EN) A Deputy Valuer-General so appointed may, in the absence of the Valuer-General, perform any of the functions or duties or exercise any of the powers of the Valuer-General under this Act. > > > (3)  The Minister may appoint or employ such persons as may be considered necessary to provide valuation services to the Valuer-General and the appointment or employment may be subject to, and in accordance with, the [State Service Act 2000](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-2001-102) .
