88 Exemption relating to interstate tow truck drivers and operators
> > (1) A person who holds a licence, permit or other authority issued under the law of another State or Territory that authorises the person to drive or operate a tow truck in that State or Territory is exempt from the requirements under the Act to hold a licence or drivers certificate.

> > (2) The exemption does not apply to or in respect of any towing work if the towing of the vehicle concerned starts in this State.
>
> > (3) This clause does not affect any entitlement, under the [Mutual Recognition (New South Wales) Act 1992](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1992-061), of a person who holds a licence, permit or other authority issued under the law of another State or Territory to drive or operate a tow truck (including in respect of the towing of a vehicle that starts in this State) without holding a licence or drivers certificate under the [Tow Truck Industry Act 1998](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1998-111).
