### 30 Appeal against decision granting or refusing discharge of parentage order
> > (1) Any of the following persons may, under [section 20 of the](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1998-001#GS20@EN) [Magistrates Court (Children's Division) Act 1998](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1998-001) ,appeal to the Supreme Court against a decision under this Act granting, or refusing, an application for discharge of a parentage order, as if the person were a party to the proceedings under that Act:

> > > > (a) the child, if he or she is 18 years of age or more;
> > >
> > > > (b) the birth parents;
> > >
> > > > (c) the intended parents named in the parentage order as becoming parents of the child;
> > >
> > > > (d) the Attorney-General, if he or she made the application;
> > >
> > > > (e) another person served with the application.

> > (2) An application under this section may only be made by a person within 30 days after the day on which notice of the decision appealed against was received by the person.
