Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This declaration prevents specific groups of workers from being classified as "productivity employees" under the Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS).

Who it affects:

People holding statutory offices at the Northern Land Council
Regular employees of the Northern Land Council
Employees of Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation Limited

Why it matters: Under Part VIA of the Superannuation Act 1976, "productivity employees" received specific superannuation contributions tied to workplace productivity agreements. This declaration ensures the three groups listed above do not receive these particular benefits or classifications, even if they might otherwise qualify. The declaration applies retrospectively from 1 July 1990.
