Tasmania regulation
This Order declares Walker Corporation’s Lauderdale Quay waterfront housing and marina proposal to be a “project of State significance.” It names the private proponent, lists the kinds of works envisaged (including land reclamation, subdivision, housing, marina berths, habitat restoration and infrastructure) and is administered by the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The Order takes effect after both Houses approve it under section 18 of the State Policies and Projects Act 1993, shifting decision‑making and oversight to state-level processes while the proponent remains the project financier and implementer.
