234 Regulations may exclude vehicles, people and animals
from Act
(1) A regulation may—
(a) exempt a vehicle, person or animal prescribed under the
regulation from this Act (or a stated provision of this Act); or
(b) authorise the road transport authority to exempt a vehicle,
person or animal prescribed under the regulation from this Act
(or a stated provision of this Act).
(2) An exemption granted under a regulation mentioned in subsection (1)
may be subject to conditions.
(3) A regulation may provide for the road transport authority to—
(a) suspend the operation of any regulation mentioned in
subsection (1) (a) in the way and circumstances prescribed by
regulation; or
(b) suspend the operation of an exemption given by the authority to
a vehicle, person or animal in the way and circumstances
prescribed by regulation.
