233 General regulation-making power
(1) The Executive may make regulations for this Act.
(2) The Executive may also make regulations under this Act, not
inconsistent with another road transport Act, prescribing matters—
(a) required or permitted by the other road transport Act to be
prescribed (whether or not the other road transport Act expressly
provides for the matters to be prescribed under this Act or that
Act); or
(b) necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or
giving effect to the other road transport Act.
(3) A regulation may also prescribe offences for contraventions of a
regulation and prescribe maximum penalties of not more than
20 penalty units for offences against a regulation.
(4) In this section:
another road transport Act means an Act (other than this Act)
mentioned in section 6 (What is the road transport legislation?).
