17Delegation of road transport authority’s functions

17 Delegation of road transport authority’s functions
(1) The road transport authority may delegate the authority’s functions
under the road transport legislation to—
(a) the chief police officer; or
(b) a public employee; or
(c) a person prescribed by regulation.
Note For the making of delegations and the exercise of delegated functions,
(2) A delegate may subdelegate to a suitable person a function delegated
under subsection (1) (a) or (b).
suitable person means—
(a) a public employee; or
(b) a person prescribed by regulation; or
(c) if the person subdelegating a function is the chief police
officer—a police officer.
