44 Specific traffic management powers of State road authorities
(1) Subject to the **Road Safety Act 1986** and any regulations made under that Act, but without limiting any other powers of a State road authority, the powers include the specific traffic management powers set out in Schedule 4.
(2) Schedule 4 has effect.
Example to s. 44(2) amended by Nos 55/2013 s. 26(3), 49/2019 s. 183(Sch. 3 item 19).
A State road authority, other than the Head, Transport for Victoria, must obtain the consent of the Head, Transport for Victoria before exercising a power under Schedule 4 which if exercised under a regulation made under the **Road Safety Act 1986** in respect of a major traffic control device would require the consent of the Head, Transport for Victoria.
