#### 198 Obstruction of investigator 198 Obstruction of investigator > > (1) A person must not— > > > > > (a) without reasonable excuse, refuse or fail to comply with any notice given or requirement made, or to answer any question asked, by an investigator under this Division, or > > > > > (b) provide information or give evidence in purported compliance with a requirement made or question asked by an investigator under this Division knowing the information or evidence to be false or misleading in a material particular, or > > > > > (c) wilfully delay, hinder or obstruct an investigator in the exercise of the investigator’s functions under this Division. > > > > Maximum penalty—20 penalty units. > > > (2) Despite any other provision of this Division, a natural person is excused from answering any question, providing any information, giving evidence or producing or permitting the inspection of a document in accordance with this Division on the ground that the answer, information, evidence or document may tend to incriminate the person.
