#### 8 Property belonging to homeless persons—the Act, ss 18 and 25 8 Property belonging to homeless persons—the Act, ss 18 and 25 > For the Act, sections 18(3)(b) and 25(3)(b), if an authorised officer believes a homeless person is a responsible person for an animal or item, the authorised officer must, before taking possession of the animal or item, consider— > > > (a) the underlying principles in the Protocol for Homeless People in Public Places published by the Department of Communities and Justice, as in force from time to time, and > > > (b) a policy, however described, adopted by the authority to give effect to the Protocol.
