#### 89 Review of Act 89 Review of Act > > (1) A joint committee of members of Parliament is to review this Act to determine whether the policy objectives of the Act remain valid and whether the terms of the Act remain appropriate for securing the objectives. > > > (2) Without limiting subsection (1), the review is to consider— > > > > > (a) the effectiveness of the changes made by this Act to the public interest disclosure scheme in force under the [Public Interest Disclosures Act 1994](/view/html/repealed/current/act-1994-092) immediately before the repeal of that Act, and > > > > > (b) whether the structures in place to support the operation of the public interest disclosure scheme remain appropriate, and > > > > > (c) the need for further review of this Act after the review under this section. > > > (3) The joint committee is to consult with, and may obtain assistance or advice from, each member of the Steering Committee in connection with the review. > > > (4) The review is to be undertaken as soon as possible after the period of 5 years from the date of assent to this Act. > > > (5) The joint committee is to report on the outcome of the review to both Houses of Parliament as soon as practicable after the completion of the review. > > > (6) The Minister is to provide a response to the report to both Houses of Parliament within 6 months of the report being tabled.
