#### 72 Functions of Ombudsman—general 72 Functions of Ombudsman—general > > (1) The Ombudsman has the following functions under this Act— > > > > > (a) to promote public awareness and understanding of this Act and to promote the objects of this Act, > > > > > (b) to provide information, advice, assistance and training to agencies and public officials on matters relevant to this Act, > > > > > (c) to publish guidelines and other materials for the assistance of— > > > > > > > (i) agencies in connection with their functions under this Act, and > > > > > > > (ii) public officials and other persons in connection with the operation of this Act and the protections available to them under this Act, > > > > > (d) to audit and monitor the exercise by agencies of their functions under this Act, other than functions exercised by an integrity agency in relation to disclosures that do not relate to the integrity agency, > > > > > (e) to provide reports and recommendations to the Minister about proposals for legislative and administrative change to further the objects of this Act, > > > > > (f) other functions conferred on the Ombudsman by or under this Act. > > > (2) The conferral of functions on the Ombudsman by or under this Act does not limit the conferral of functions on the Ombudsman by or under the [Ombudsman Act 1974](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1974-068) or another Act or law. > > > > Example. > > > > Conduct that constitutes a detrimental action offence may also constitute conduct mentioned in the [Ombudsman Act 1974](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1974-068), section 26(1).
