57A Giving evidence by affidavit for interim order
(1) This section applies if a police officer applies for a personal
protection order on behalf of an affected person.
(2) In a proceeding for an interim order, evidence may be given by an
affidavit—
(a) made by the affected person or a police officer; and
(b) sworn or affirmed before a police officer of, or above, the rank
of sergeant.
Note An affidavit may also be sworn or affirmed before a person mentioned in
the Oaths and Affirmations Act 1984, s 11.
