54 Public hearing not required
(1) The hearing of an application for a protection order, or part of the
hearing, need not be in public if—
(a) it is a hearing for an interim order; or
(b) a party is not present at a time when the application is returned
Note Division 4.2A provides for what happens if a party is not present when
an application for a final order is returned before the court.
