101 Deciding application if criminal proceedings
The power of a court to make, amend or revoke a protection order in
relation to a person may be exercised even if the person has been
charged with, or convicted or found guilty of, an offence arising out
of the same conduct as that out of which the application for the order
arose.
Note If the Magistrates Court is making an interim order and there is a related
charge outstanding in relation to the respondent, the court must make a
special interim order (see s 19 (1) (a)).
