81Access to features of public interest

81 Access to features of public interest (1) Subject to subsection (2), the Minister may, by notice in the Gazette declare an area of pastoral land to be or contain a feature of public interest and in the same or a subsequent notice in the Gazette nominate a route by which members of the public may gain access across pastoral land to the area. (2) The Minister shall not under subsection (1) declare an area of pastoral land or nominate a route unless the Minister has given the pastoral lessee reasonable written notice of his or her intention to do so. (3) Sections 79 and 80, with the necessary changes, apply to and in relation to an area declared under subsection (1) as if the feature that it contains were perennial water referred to in section 79 and the area were land within the prescribed distance of that water.
