72 Vacation of land (1) Where the lessee or former lessee of pastoral land vacates the land leaving behind property, the Minister may, by notice in writing, require him or her to remove the property within the period specified in the notice. (2) If the lessee or former lessee does not comply with a notice under subsection (1) within the specified period, the Minister may remove and dispose of the property. (3) Costs incurred by the Minister in removing and disposing of property under subsection (2) that are not covered by the proceeds, if any, of the sale of the property may be recovered as a debt due and payable to the Territory from the person to whom the notice under subsection (1) was given.
