Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act makes minor drafting updates to Northern Territory law and one substantive change: it expands the Wards Benefits Trust Fund to receive royalties from timber as well as mining. It chiefly affects the Territory’s Administrator (formal wording changes) and Aboriginal people classed as “wards,” broadening revenue for welfare funds while leaving the legal wardship framework in place.
