Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This amendment tightens maritime safety rules for bulkhead (watertight) doors by specifying that restrictions apply only to doors located below the freeboard deck and by removing the now-obsolete Regulation 40. It affects ship owners, masters and crews under Australian navigation law and matters because precise terminology and scope preserve watertight integrity and reduce confusion in drills and emergencies.
