#### 59 Regulations about payment of wages (1) The regulations may make provision in relation to the payment of wages to seafarers. (2) Without limiting subsection (1), the regulations may make provision in relation to the following: (a) the frequency of making payments to seafarers; (b) the method of making payments to seafarers; (c) permitted deductions from payments to seafarers; (d) pay slips, including the information relating to exchange rates that must be included in any pay slip given to a seafarer; (e) the payment of part or all of the wages of a seafarer, with the seafarer’s consent, to a person other than the seafarer; (f) the charges that may be imposed for making payments in accordance with paragraph (e); (g) the entitlement to wages of a seafarer left at a port because he or she is ill or injured. (3) The regulations must not provide for the quantum or amount of wages payable to seafarers.
