#### 47 Taking a regulated Australian vessel to sea without maritime labour certificate—owner (1) The owner of a regulated Australian vessel must not take the vessel to sea, or cause or permit another person to take the vessel to sea, if: (a) the vessel is required by the regulations to have a maritime labour certificate of a specified kind; and (b) a maritime labour certificate of that kind is not in force for the vessel. Fault‑based offence (2) A person commits an offence if the person contravenes subsection (1). Penalty: Imprisonment for 12 months or 60 penalty units, or both. Civil penalty (3) A person is liable to a civil penalty if the person contravenes subsection (1). Civil penalty: 600 penalty units.
