#### 263 Power to require persons to answer questions and produce documents (1) An inspector who is on or in premises that he or she has entered under a warrant may require anyone on the premises to: (a) answer any questions put by the inspector; and (b) produce any books, records or documents requested by the inspector. (2) A person contravenes this subsection if: (a) a requirement is made of the person under subsection (1); and (b) the person fails to comply with the requirement. (3) Subsection (2) does not apply if the person has a reasonable excuse. Fault‑based offence (4) A person commits an offence if the person contravenes subsection (2). Penalty: 30 penalty units. > Note: A defendant bears an evidential burden in relation to the matter in subsection (3) (see subsection 13.3(3) of the Criminal Code).
