#### 253 Refusal of clearance An officer of Customs may refuse to grant clearance under the Customs Act 1901 to a vessel if: (a) the vessel is, or may be detained under section 248 or 252; or (b) the requirements of this Act in relation to the vessel or its seafarers or equipment have not been complied with.
