### 23 Lands subject to trusts > > (1) Land that may be acquired under [section 14](#GS14@EN) may be so acquired subject to a trust for its use for a conservation purpose. > > > (2) For the purposes of [subsection (1)](#GS23@Gs1@EN) , if land is held by trustees on trust for its use for a conservation purpose those trustees may, unless the instrument under which the land is held otherwise provides, surrender that land subject to its continuing to be held on that trust.
