84 Disposal of things
If: (a) a thing is seized under this Division; and (b) apart from this section, an authorised officer would be required to take reasonable steps to return the thing to a person; and (c) either: (i) the authorised officer cannot, despite making reasonable efforts, locate the person; or (ii) the person has refused to take possession of the thing; the National VET Regulator may dispose of the thing in such manner as the Regulator considers appropriate.
Note: If the operation of this section would result in an acquisition of property otherwise than on just terms, see section 234.
