8 Compliance with Heavy Vehicle Standards Regulations
(1) The registration authority may accept as evidence that a heavy vehicle complies with the Heavy Vehicle Standards Regulations: (a) an identification plate relating to the vehicle; or (b) a certificate to that effect issued by the manufacturer of the vehicle. (2) In the absence of evidence mentioned in subregulation (1), the registration authority may, upon inspecting the heavy vehicle, issue a certificate to the effect that the vehicle complies with the Heavy Vehicle Standards Regulations.
