Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This instrument specifies which English tests, the minimum scores required, and the classes of applicants who are exempt when applying for a Subclass 500 (Student) visa. It creates different score tiers depending on whether the student will do accompanying ELICOS, foundation or listed pathway programs, and attaches an extensive list of eligible pathway courses. It matters to student applicants (who must pay for and supply test evidence), immigration decision‑makers (who assess timing and sufficiency of evidence), and the named education providers in Schedule 2.
