29 Effect of declaration on aquaculture
> > (1) The declaration of an area as a marine park does not affect any aquaculture permit or aquaculture lease under the [Fisheries Management Act 1994](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1994-038) that is in force at the time of the declaration.
>
> > (2) However, any such lease applying to any area within a marine park must not be extended or renewed under that Act, unless the regulations provide that aquaculture is permissible in the relevant area.
>
> > (3) Subsection (2) does not affect a person’s entitlement to have an aquaculture lease renewed for the first time under section 167 (3) of the [Fisheries Management Act 1994](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1994-038).
>
> > (4) In this section, aquaculture has the same meaning as in the [Fisheries Management Act 1994](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1994-038).
