Plain English Summary
4/10 complexity
These Rules set out practical steps for operating the Major Sporting Events (Indicia and Images) Protection Act 2014. They fix short time limits for seized goods (10 working days), require a named deed form when objecting to importation (Form B1274), list the information a designated owner must supply to recover seized goods, prescribe which State/Territory provisions apply for damages for certain events, and specify protected words/mascot combinations for the AFC Asian Cup 2015. They affect rights‑holders, importers, customs officials and businesses using event branding and impose administrative deadlines and document requirements.
Zoe can write the in-depth analysis on top of the summary above: how it works, who it affects and what each part actually does.
