### 26 Interest on judgments
> > (1) Every judgment carries interest at –
> >
> > > > (a) [*\[Section 26 Subsection (1) amended by No. 33 of 2023, s. 19, Applied:27 Nov 2023\]*](/view/html/inforce/2023-11-27/act-2023-033#GS19@EN) the rate of interest that applied, under [section 165 of the](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1932-058#GS165@EN) [Supreme Court Civil Procedure Act 1932](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1932-058) , at the time at which the judgment was entered; or
> > >
> > > > (b) where the debt upon which the judgment is entered up carried interest, the rate at which that interest was calculated –
> >
> > from the time that judgment was entered until it has been satisfied.

> > (2) The amount of any interest due and payable under this section may be levied by execution on the judgment.
