72B Defendant’s appearance in non-bail proceedings—

(1) This section applies if the court gives a direction under the Evidence
(Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1991, section 20 (1) (Territory courts
may take evidence and submissions from participating States) or
section 32 (1) (Territory courts may take evidence and submissions
from another place) in relation to any part of a proceeding in relation
to a defendant remanded under—
(a) section 70 (Remand of defendant); or
(b) section 72 (Bringing remanded defendant before court).
(2) The director-general must make arrangements to ensure that the
evidence can be taken, or the submission made, in accordance with
the court’s direction.
