291I Purpose—ch 4B The purpose of this chapter is to establish a specialised court to deal with family violence offences, recognising that— (a) the nature of family violence and the particular needs involved in protecting victims is complex; and (b) great social harm results from family violence; and (c) family violence offences take place in the context of a special relationship between people.
