271 Stay of proceedings (1) This section applies if an application under section 270 to have a proceeding in the Magistrates Court removed into the Supreme Court is pending. (2) On the application of a party to the proceeding, the Supreme Court may order that the proceeding be stayed until the application under section 270 is decided or until the Supreme Court orders otherwise. (3) An order that a proceeding be stayed takes effect immediately on a copy of the order being filed in the Magistrates Court.
