Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act authorises the City of Heidelberg (as committee of management) to grant leases, up to 21 years, over the Crown land shown in the Schedule for sport, recreation or related social activities, including buildings. Leases are subject to covenants set by the Corporation and require Governor in Council approval; tenants pay rent to be applied to site maintenance or other Minister‑approved purposes, and the Crown is not liable for compensation for acts under the Act.

The measure shifts upkeep funding to rents and concentrates leasing discretion with the Corporation.
