#### 22 Defective water supply, sewerage or stormwater drainage work to be rectified 22 Defective water supply, sewerage or stormwater drainage work to be rectified > > (1) It is a condition of an approval referred to in item 1, 4, 5 or 6 of Part B of the Table to section 68 of the Act that a licensed contractor who carries out the activity approved must, if ordered to do so by the council, rectify any defect in the work that is due to faulty workmanship or defective material, but only if the council notifies the contractor of the defect after the date of issue by the contractor of a certificate to the effect that the work has been carried out as required by the Act and the [Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1979-203). > > > (2) A licensed contractor so notified must bear the cost of rectifying the defect. > > > (3) This section does not apply in respect of any activity that is plumbing and drainage work within the meaning of the [Plumbing and Drainage Act 2011](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2011-059).
