20 Fixed costs for recovery of certain debts and enforcement of certain judgments

(1) For the Act, section 59(1)(d) and (e), the costs specified in Schedule 1 are fixed as the costs payable for the legal services specified in Schedule 1 for the enforcement of—

(a) a lump sum debt or liquidated sum for damages, and

(b) a judgment, including a judgment for the possession of land, by a judgment creditor.

(2) The costs specified in Schedule 1 include all attendances, copying, letters, perusals, searches and telephone calls carried out in relation to the matter by or for the law practice retained by the plaintiff.

(3) The costs specified in Schedule 1, other than the following costs, exclude filing fees and service costs if the filing fees and service costs are otherwise recoverable—

(a) Schedule 1, Part 1, item 2,

(b) Schedule 1, Part 2, item 2.

(4) To avoid doubt, this section does not fix the costs payable for obtaining a judgment in contested matters.
