597 Professional privilege or duty of confidence does not
affect validity of certain requirements etc
(1) This section applies to a requirement under—
(a) section 231 (Reporting certain irregularities etc) to give written
notice of an irregularity in relation to a trust account, a trust
ledger account or trust money; or
(b) section 502 (Power of receiver to require documents or
information) to give access to documents or information; or
(c) section 527 (Provisions relating to requirements under part 6.2)
to produce documents, provide information or otherwise assist
in, or cooperate with, an investigation.
(2) The validity of the requirement is not affected, and a person is not
excused from complying with the requirement, on the ground of client
legal privilege or any other duty of confidence.
