556 Additional obligations of Australian lawyers
(1) The duties imposed on an Australian lawyer by this section are
additional to obligations imposed under other provisions of this
chapter, whether or not the lawyer is the subject of the investigation,
examination or audit concerned.
(2) An Australian lawyer must not mislead an investigator or the relevant
council in the exercise of—
(a) any function under this part; or
(b) any function under a provision of a corresponding law that
corresponds to this part.
(3) An Australian lawyer who is subject to—
(a) a requirement under section 526 (Requirements that may be
imposed for investigations under ch 4); or
(b) a requirement under provisions of a corresponding law that
correspond to that section;
must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to comply with the
requirement.
