492 Deceased estates—law practice under management
(1) The manager for a law practice must cooperate with the legal personal
representative of a deceased legal practitioner associate of the
practice for the orderly winding up of the estate.
(2) The manager is not, in the exercise of powers and duties as manager,
a legal personal representative of the deceased legal practitioner
associate.
(3) Subsection (2) does not prevent the manager from exercising powers
or duties as a legal personal representative if otherwise appointed as
representative.
(4) Subject to subsections (1) and (2) and to the terms of the manager’s
appointment, if the manager was appointed before the death of the
legal practitioner associate, the manager’s appointment, powers and
duties are not affected by the death.
